5E. Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that affects 1% of Americans. The symptoms can include hearing voices or thinking that people want to hurt them. People with schizophrenia can seem shy or very flustered.

There is no cure for schizophrenia. However, treatment often relieves some symptoms allowing people with schizophrenia to lead a rewarding and meaningful life.
